The temptation of low- and no-code platforms are great: Above all, the promised time savings in development make many start-ups think about implementing them with low- and no-code tools. The fact that projects implemented with Low and No Code cannot be adapted or are not “real” programs is just a prejudice. Above all, it is important for success to know your own requirements in order to decide on the right platform.
FoodBrain wants to revolutionize the world of nutrition planning. Many apps claim to support a balanced diet, but the Dortmund start-up sees room for improvement, especially in the area of macro and micronutrients. FoodBrain’s vision is: to swap dietary supplements as far as possible for a regular and balanced diet, taking into account the taste and intolerance of the user.
The start-up combines ML algorithms with diets and recipes to generate suggestions and thus also nutrition plans. Due to a lack of time and money, when developing the app, the focus was early on in the direction of no- and low-code applications. To this day, the team has been working with a mixture of both approaches.
